What is Stress?
"Stress"
itself is not necessarily damaging in our lives, but too much of it
either over time, or in one concentrated period of time can cause harm.
In its simplest terms, "stress" refers to changes that occur physically
in our bodies when faced with something that triggers those changes -
any "stressor".
"Stressors"
in modern lives include a huge range of different areas, including
those in our everyday home life (finances, paying the bills, keeping
the household clean, managing busy lifestyles); everyday relationships
(dealing with personal issues in relationships, from everyday niggles -
e.g. putting the top on the toothpaste - through to life-changing
issues, such as divorce and bereavements; dealing with issues in your
family relationships; strains in parenting; strains from friendships;
working with colleagues; neighbour disagreements or unrest);
work-related stress (job insecurity; difficulties at work;
relationships at work; managing timetables and targets, for example).

seem to be new stressors around all the time, whenever you switch on
the news, or open a newspaper, you will come across something else to
